Equine Law Blog

The Equine Law Blog, presented by Foster Swift, is dedicated to educating the horse industry about laws, legal developments, and "fine points" in the law that can have important consequences for businesses, associations, companies, non-profits, and individual horse owners. Through this blog we will provide general information that you may find informative, useful, and possibly even entertaining. We will share information regarding trends in the law affecting the equine industry and practical tips on how to avoid disputes.

Julie I. Fershtman, main contributor, has unparalleled expertise in Equine Law. She is a Shareholder with Foster Swift with a law practice that is national in scope. She has successfully tried equine cases before juries in four states and is one of the nation's best-known and most experienced Equine Law practitioners. She has also written four books on Equine Law, including the popular Equine Law & Horse Sense book series, and has spoken in 29 states at the equine industry's largest conferences and conventions.

Our hands-on experience as active "Equine Lawyers" who handle and try cases, we believe, offers an unparalleled depth to this blog. We actively serve the industry and, in many cases, are directly involved as counsel on the issues on which we write.

We always welcome comments from you, our reader, about what we've written and ideas for future submissions.
